I installed OS 5.0.0.90 last night and here is my feeling on it:-
1) Consumes tad more memory than 4.6.1.206
2) There is not a huge or marked difference in the UI between 4.6 and 5.0 apart from progress bars and Media app.
3) BBM is very much improved.
4) I have the following 3 party apps installed out of which only BBWeather 0.84 did not work rest all are working perfectly fine.
(A) Docs To Go Premium
(B) Bolt Browser
(C) amAzeGps
(D) BBLight
(E) MissingLight
(F) BBFileScout
(G) Live_Search
(H) Tetris or RockBerry
(I) logMaid
(J) CaptureIt
(K) Quick Pull v.2.0
5) It takes a while to return to home screen disconnecting a call.
6) Default browser works just fine.
7) Themes were reset. It was a bummer as I had to set them up again.
Rest other things have been pretty much covered in previous posts.
While I did enjoy using this beta, I had to switch back. My UMA connection didn't seem to stay consistent. And there were other quirky things that would happen like the track ball not working in the browser at random times.
I can't wait for an official 5.0 to be released as I loved the visuals and the browser seemed to be faster.
This was the same issues when 4.5 was released for the 8000 series. Very buggy. Once one carrier supports this software we will be able to have fun with it
Like most, I made the downgrade... 5.0 will probably be nice but it just doesn't work well now. I loaded it on Friday night and up until right now my phone restart 3 times by itself, and that's only how many I caught it doing. I like the new profile settings and how it makes it so much easier to set what you want, but HATE how they got rid of the 'F' shortcut key... What's the deal with that? I miss my 'R' for alarm too... Also it bugs me how everything is now double spaced including phone logs and BBM. I like to jam as much possible information in the smallest font readable per screen and this obviously does not make that possible. I hope that becomes an option later down the road. Speed also seemed like an improvement and when in a folder to open an app my phone didn't lag like it does with 4.6. Also it seemed to handle memory just as well and I didn't notice any leaks over the past couple days. WiFi and EDGE seemed just as strong also. Seems like it has the possibility to be a welcome upgrade in the future, but obviously nothing revolutionary. All-in-all it just is way to pre-beta for it to be used for a main phone.

Agree with majority of posters, very nice OS visually but way to many little things that just didn't quite work right. UMA wouldn't stay connected, profiles didn't allow me to change ringtones, numerous apps did not work like Viigo, facebook, etc..
Can't wait for it to be out of alpha, but I think it's best to wait for a more stable version...
