Hi

I have a BB8830 world edition , just unlocked from Verizon and using a local GSM operator SIM in India. Can i have bb internet services or email , eg gmail on it . Operators site says that when it is mentioned GPRS in small letters , you can only sms , phone and use WAP.

Any hope ?

The operator is right. You will need to have a BlackBerry Data Plan activated on your account in order to get BB internet, e-mail, and data services.

I still am not sure. When one sets the phone in GSM mode, it shows 'GPRS' written next to network signal bars. As per operator , if it is written in caps , then one can use the full BB services , if its in small letters , then only sms, phone and WAP.

So , is this means this phone will never be able to use Blackberry services and this is a dead end?

One more thing, how can i configure browser manually. In options, after selecting the 'browser' , it just reads 'default browser configuration'
