I'd like to have one calendar (and as far as I know I HAVE only one in outlook). But when I look in my 9850 I have three calendars (one for each each email and a default) and all but three events pertain to one email address (the sbcglobal.net), the other three are in default.
How did this happen and can I undo it?
I really don't want calendars/tasks/contacts associated with different email addresses; just want them all default.
gmail address is associated with calendar (cical)
Sbcglobal with contact list (SYNC)
gmail address with messaging (CMIME)
Default isn't even an choice in selecting choices.
Also, I only use Outlook for everything. I enter tasks and calendar entries in the phone and into Outlook. I don't sync with google calendar or do anything OTA, it's all via USB.
First, understand that Desktop Manager only sync's one calendar, and that is the default CICAL. If the gmail address is the one you want to use, then leave as is. If not, change it, but also change the CMIME to whatever you pick for CICAL.
Ok, next open the calendar app, select options, and then select one of the calendars other than the one you selected for default CICAL. Type move. You won't see the word move as you type, but you will be prompted whether you want to move all entries in that calendar to the default calendar. Click yes. Repeat for all the other calendars other than the default CICAL. Then close out of that screen and out of calendar. Do a hard reset. All your calendar entries will be in the default CICAL. The so-called 'Default' calendar should be gone. When you create calendar entries and send and receive calendar invites it will be with the default CICAL.
By the way, the options > advanced is referring to the device options. But that is pre-OS 6. On 6 and 7 you would go options > advanced system settings > default services.
EDIT: I just looked and I have the Default account in my calendar options, so maybe it won't disappear. I know on my previous BlackBerrys (OS 5 and earlier) it did. But no biggie.
Also, FYI, a lot of people have troubles when they have their device set to sync with their google and they sync the device with Outlook or whatever on the computer. Be forewarned. If you have trouble, set yourself up so that google is sync'd with Outlook, and then sync the device with Outlook.

Thanks for the info. Why do I ahve to use an email address? Can't I move everything to the "Default"? Do you think I should change my default calendar to the sbcglobal to avoid any issues?
I don't know why you (and I) see the Default account. I'm still finding my way around myself with this new 9900. As I say, the Default calendar disappeard on me in the past. And another thing, in my case I see Default in calendar options calendar accounts, but I don't have it as an option in default services in device options, just email addresses. (I don't have Facebook or anything else that would add another CICAL choice.)
Another thing, over the years, the solution to sync problems has been to set the default CICAL and CMIM to an email address when the default CICAL was set to something else not an email address.
I'm confidant in saying use an email address for default CICAL and CMIME. It shouldn't matter which address. Try it with the google address and see how it works. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
Interesting. Don't know why I still have it. Too lazy to do a hard reser right now, but I'll check next time I do one. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
