In my opinion, bottom line, if you want the information secure, don't make it electronic. In the end, if it's in an email, someone could copy it into a note, then sync it off the BB, or email it to another account.

External storage does facilitate data theft, but if you have it on the BB, you have it. SD / Compact Flash / MMC, really doesn't matter. If you're motivated, it can be had. If they are worried about physical security, then they better check watches. I've seen USB storage in watches!

Real Estate agents. Journalists. Architects. Marketing/PR folks.

I have been completely underwhelmed by music players in mobile phones. They always suck, and have no real storage available for them. My P910a has a music player and such, but it is limited by virtue of it only having 1GB of removable storage. The iPod's hold tens of thousands of songs. I'd rather take that when I'm needing music.

Having said that, I do have some favorites on my handset and the PSP, just in case I don't have my iPod handy!

I was not sure whether to get the Treo 650 or the BB 7250 to replace my POS Kyocera 7135.

I went with the BB because I don't want or need the camera, MP3 player etc on my mobile communication device.

The BB is the single best purchase I've made in the last 5 years. Its fast, stable and does its job.

The BlackBerry clearly isn't the jack of all trades, but it is the epitome of mobile email. Mobile email means BlackBerry. That could be either the best thing about it, or its downfall.

Shoot guys, I'd be happy with just decent sound volume on my 7290 phone. Rim hasn't got that one down pat yet, let alone cameras and mp3 players and so forth. First things first guys.

BB's and Treo phones are also about convergence of gizmo's. I'm not a hardcore road warrior but I do spend 14-20 weeks a year on the road and, like many business travelers, I've been carrying a ton of individual gizmo's, cables, chargers and adapters. Carrying one device that acts as PDA, mobile e-mail and cell phone already lightens the load but an MP3 player with an SD card would eliminate yet another device from my bag. The Treo 600 I had for about a month was great but software instability and a ridiculously fragile screen make it completely useless.

I could see how tiny SD cards could be a secutiry risk but they could also be concealed in a breifcase, taped to the bottom of a wristwatch or slipped into a sock couldn't they?

i won't disagree with you, guinda35, but if we never dream about BBs with sd slots or cameras they won't ever come...you dream about decent sound volume today, and maybe it gets fixed soon - same deal.

I agree with BBAdmin and NJBlackBerry. Blackberry is not for the masses... It is a solid, proven business tool that does pretty much everything its users need it to do. If you want a PDA that does it all but need a higher resolution screen, a camera, MP3 and video support with a HD and/or detachable media, just go with a Treo or a Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC... however be ready to live with some stability issues... and without pushed e-mail.

I think RIM will stay true to its vision for now because of all their big shot corporate and government users out there... On the other hand, there will probably be more smart phones to come from other manufacturers using the BlackBerry Connect system...

It was not an easy decision for me to choose the BB over the Treo 650. I can tell you now that I have never been happier with my choice. I do everything with it; but I am preaching to the choir here. My point is Mp3's would be a great feature. I would not need a camera but could see why some might want one. Mp3's stored on a flash card would really be a bonus to an already outstanding product.

And of course you listen through Bluetooth headsets. I'd love it.

By and large business users do not require a camera and large corporations don't want them in their building.

i'd hope that real estate agents and insurance agents would be using somethign better to a camera phone for the work they do

well i used a timport 2way pager for years when i was in the music industry. because of the beaming feature. now the blackberry is my best friend. i find when you have to many tasks and features on one devices it tends to lock up or slow down while emailing and getting calls.. thats both blackberry and treo. so my bb is data only and i have a phone. just got use to carrying 2 devices. its secure it doesnt crash and easy to use. my emails are fast and i can send out emails to about 150 people at a time.

team your bb wont suffer because it has the phone on it been using mine for a year straight and not the first crash or mandatory reboot

well now i have aa 7520 so i probably wont lock up.. but phone calls on it are weird to me.. so i have my 860 and 7520..when i had my 7510 it use to clock alot. 2 devices is needed cause i email and talk on the phone at the same time.
