So here is my story...

I am an adminsitrator for my local Novell 6.5 / Groupwise 6.5 sp4 server.
I administer my own NDS tree.
My GroupWise however is part of a multiple domain GroupWise System with the Primary Domain in the UK (I'm in Canada) with no direct links.

My BES server is 4.02 with GroupWise client 6.5 sp5 installed.
I tried to have the admin in UK create the trusted app key. They emailed me a long string of numbers which I used to install the BES software. However, it will not connect to download the address books.

The error I get when running gwsystemaddressbooksync is:

msde or sql server? do the other GW BES processes (gwCO, gWQM) connect? check the GWCo log to see if the 'mail store test' passes or fails. If they pass then the trusted app key connection to GroupWise is ok and there is something else at fault here.

Ok, we found the problem. When the trusted key was generated at the primary domain in Europe, an IP address and port were specified. Once we removed them, everything worked fine here in Canada. Apprently when you specify an IP address the trusted application key, you limit the scope to the Primary Domain.
