Is there a manual way to load the new OS instead of relying on a auto-pop?

I also read how some people have issues with the 4.3 BB desktop, could i be one of them? If so, that sucks because it was a waste of an hour to download the file and install it (it took forever) and now I probably have to waste another 1-2 hours uninstalling it and re-downloading/install 4.2

what the....
Ok so I am having the same exact problem. Downloaded the latest desktop software, rebooted computer, downloaded the lastest handheld software from Tmobile (my carrier) version "T-Mobile_BlackBerry_8120_v4.3.0.115" this is the lastest available from them as of today.

Started the desktop software, plugged in my 8120, went to application loader, and NO prompt for UPDATE at all. Nothing shows in the loader except what is already on my phone, nothing comes up with I click on the update applications instead of add/remove applications. NOTHING

How can I manually push this os onto my phone?

When I open the application loader I don't even SEE the OS system files.

I clicked "browse" and finally found the following files in the program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/8120-v4.3.0.115_P2.6.0.64 directory:
aim.alx
BISThickClient.alx
BlackBerry.alx
Browser.alx
DocViewer.alx
google.alx
help.alx
LBS.alx
MDSRuntime.alx
MemoPad-java.alx
msn.alx
net_rim_bb_medialoader_video.alx
PasswordKeeper.alx
Phone.alx
Platform.alx
RootCertificates.alx
Tasks-java.alx
Yahoo.alx

added them all to the application loader and clicked "next"

They all seemed to be added with either "install or update" next to the application.

I click next and get this error message:

Quote:
Invalid Configuration

The appplication "BlackBerry 4.3 Core Applications" cannot be loaded, because it requires the following applications that are not available:

net.rim.platform.ecmascript
I'm stuck now. I've websearched the error message and found nothing! Anyone have any ideas???

go to c:\program files \ common files \ Research in motion there is a file in there (one of the folders actually) called "vendor.xml"

you need to delete this and retart and you should be ok

i.e., unplug your BB from the USB, restart DM, etc.

Plug the BB back in to the USB, start DM, proceed...

I did that. So I gave up on the .115 version from TM and tried the 4.5 from Rogers

New error message, again I did delete the vender.xml file. And rebooted both the phone and computer.

grrrr.....

New Error is:
Invalid Configuration

The application "BlackBerry 4.5.0 Core Applications cannot be loaded because some required files are not available.

I'm just about to give up on upgrading, but I really really want to new doc reader and the video viewing abilities....

Now here's the thing, the 8120 from t-mobile ships with v 4.3.0.115, which would be why you weren't prompted to upgrade.
