gMail has a new app
You can also download the new GMail app for BlackBerry. The old version was web based and this new one is an actual appl Very quick, and allows you to send email from the "other email address" option in Gmail (something you can't do when you IMAP GMail.

if you got a BB and got service on it, and not on one that your company gave you or something that is locked down by a BES (BIS != BES) then all you have to do is setup a BIS account online. The URL varries from carrier to carrier but if you do not know yours you can go to
the blackberry website slash support/client/index.shtml (i dont have enough posts to insert URLs yet)
and look at the bottom under accessing the blackberry internet service website section for the link to your carrier

So what can I do if my company uses a BES?

You can still set up other BIS accounts while on a BES UNLESS your company specifically blocks that feature. Some do, some don't. Try and see or call your IT department and ask.

Not working with T-Mo and BES
Gmail worked perfectly for a few months, but now I get copied on every e-mail I send. I tried the fix above, but couldn't do it. Can anybody help? (Please!)
I have a 8700 with T-Mobile and BES. I logged on at MyTMobile.com, but when I clicked on Set Up E-mail, I got this error message:
We apologize, you do not have access to the My E-mail service.
Please use the e-mail solution provided with your wireless handheld.
If I use the Setup Internet Email icon on my BB, I can change things like my username and password, but it doesn't give the options mentioned in the op.
What now?
Thanks,
Luke

Your post reminded me that I deleted my gmail accounts and reactivated them, thus losing my sent items fileter. I just logged on and set them up again with no issues. You might call TMobile and see what they say.

You can attempt to setup a filter on you actual GMail account on a PC, to autoarchive items sent from your email account. You get to this by clicking the 'Settings' link in the top right corner, and then 'Filters' on the resulting page. Be careful when playing around with these settings though and only send test emails until you figure out what it is actually doing. Whatever you do, don't check the box that says to apply the new filter to all of the emails listed. I made the mistake of doing that when I had the filter set to delete emails from my account and all of the emails that I ever sent were deleted from my email account, not cool considering I had sent some to myself for specific reasons.

The same way as above. You just need to log into your Verizon BIS.

Filter doesn't help
I logged onto my gmail account from my desktop computer and added a filter to autoarchive all messages from my e-mail address (me@gmail.com).
It didn't help. I still receive a copy on my BBerry of every message I send, whether it's sent from my BB or my desktop.
Any other suggestions? I really appreaciate the help.

The filter above has nothing to do with logging into your Gmail. Log into your Blackberry Internet Service, and set it up from there. Like the screenshots in the OP.

I have another Gmail problem.
When someone sends an email to my gmail acct, I receive TWO emails on my handheld (both are the same exact email).
Could this be because I forward my gmail acct directly to my blackberry.net email?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Did you set it up through BIS AND forward from GMail? If you set it up through BIS you dont need to forward from GMail.
