Default tour 9630 problem

Please Login to Remove!

i have a verizon tour 9630 bb model.
i downloaded an app(unit conv.) from app store-desktop and deleted the same as i didn't like the features.
while deleting it asked confirmation about auto rebooting.
upon confirmation, the display is not going beyond initial verizon display on black background.
i have hard rebooted it but result is same.
any suggestions?

First, how long did you wait? It is rare (in my epxerience) but you need to leave it 20 minutes to be sure it isn't going to boot.

Ok. Also--and I should have mentioned this above, too--but did you test with media card removed (if you are using a media card)?

If so, I think you next step is to wipe it and reinstall the OS. Use JL_CMDER or BBSAK to wipe.

By the way, did you drop it or get it wet. If you got it wet is is probably too late, but you should try drying it thoroughly. See blackberryfaq.com, down near the bottom, for the article on what to do.

If you dropped it. Don't know. Still worth trying a software reinstall. See what happens.

I started the device in safe mode and the device responded. Now I'm stuck in safe mode. If I do a power recycle by remooving battery, again a hung display (If not started in safe mode!)

Starting up in safe mode is a good sign. Try deleting the last app you installed, or the last two or three. Maybe that will be the fix. If not, next step is OS reinstall. Do a full backup while in safe mode before you do anything else.
