Default New enterprise act give mail that is all --more-- (no body) need help

Please Login to Remove!

Just did an enterprise activation on a new BB Torch (switching from an 8350i) and all messages made it to the phone, but they are all ---more--- meaning the body is not there. A tap of the screen and the message "mores" and the body shows up, but of course I want the body there from the start.

Phone is set to auto more.

Am I spacing out here and forgetting some setting or am I screwed?

There's a setting on BES that controls this.
Your BES is set to pre-populate with headers only.

Shouldn't be. Been running these 2 users for 3 years and have always gotten body on all new messages. Should I be looking in BES Administrator on my server? Remember, this was a phone upgrade so I was basically just re-activating and already established account onto a new phone.

Thanks,

instead of saying "shouldn't be" check and be certain. send message headers only should be set to false. its under the email settings of the bes server

And you will still get the body on new messages. Pre-populated messages as a result of a new EA are handled differently.
It's your pre-population settings that are set for headers-only.

There's no such thing as 'BES Administrator'. Are you referring to BlackBerry Manager?
If so, yes.... that's where you'd change the Pre-pop settings.

OK,

Yes, using the wrong term when referring to BES Admin, my bad. Yes, need to check the field you are referring to.

Also,

Version of BES is: 4.1.4.15 which is the stripped down version.

OK FOUND IT!!! You are your title "god" it was set to true "send headers only" set it to false. Question: Should I just do another enterprise activation? How should I proceed? Don't want to have a full dup or screw up.

Pre-pop only occurs for a new user, or for an existing user with a new device.
Without hacking BES, the only way to get pre-pop to occur for this user would be to remove them from BES and then re-add them before doing a new EA.

To update the thread. I found and applied the REG Hack and did another EA and that did not fix the situation. Next I did a erase & lock from the manager utility on the server. The phone wiped and then I did another EA and when that was finished the messages were there with their bodies. Oh, I also made sure I had the prepop set to false (I think the question is, prepop just headers), so false is the correct answer.

Not sure if the Reg Hack made any difference on my limited version of 4.1.4.15 or if it was the wipe that did it, but all my settings were preserved. I had heard from my previous that if I removed the user that I would lose all kinds of BB settings which I did not want to do.
