Got a replacement 8700...

Inside the back where the sim card goes i DONT have that little black plastic piece that you have to push down to take out the sim card...

Why is that? Is this an OLD BB? Or is this how the new ones are?

Im confused!

Hmmm... I wonder if i should call and ask for a new one?

I'm assuming they added that little piece due to the fact that it keeps the SIM card in place better? Anyone have issues with their SIM coming loose?

the replacement 8700's from Rogers still seem to be new, unlike older bberry replacements. I'm still getting them in the actual box with the shrink wrapped SIM cards.

Not necessarily. You were lucky. I was sent three refurb 8700s from Rogers, all of which had problems. They finally sent me a new one which has worked out great.

Why is it that the quality control is so bad!?

Why can't a refurb work just like new (like its supposed to)

Anyone have any ideas?

most carriers now send refurbs on warranty swap outs and insurance claims. the refurbs do usually get inspected and tested, this one could have just slipped through.

They should waive any additional $25 charges on failed refurbs that need to be swapped again. Just ask.
Generally I have found that Rogers' service is pretty good.
