Angry Can't get device to connect no matter what...

Please Login to Remove!

I could use a little bit of help here.
I have a BES with 4 users on it...

One out of four will not connect. They were connected at one time and then dropped out of the blue. This is an 8820 if it makes a difference.

I have deleted the account on the BES, master reset of the phone, restart BES, I even went so far as to get her a new phone.

Right now it's stuck at activation for four hours and will fail again.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm about to open a pay ticket with RIM.

...this should not be this difficult!

At what stage of the activation is it hanging? Could you be more specific?
- Waiting for activation?
- Receiving services?
- Doesn't it go any further after x% of activation?

What error message is received on the device when the Enterprise Activation fails? What else is displayed on the HH?

Old trick .. run DBclean on the users account. I've also had times where moving the user account to another mailbox server cleared up quirky issues.

ok, so here's what we found.

First off the plan was not provisioned properly.
The second this was that the tech said that if outlook was in cached mode that it would not activate. I've never seen the second issue before...

Unfortunately, I didn't try it after each change to verify....

Anyhow, Thanks for the help!

cached mode in outlook 2003 and exch 2003 is no issue here.

AT&T just provisioned a phone incorrectly again today, sigh.

Wish RIM would make a app that the phone could access to see if it was provisioned correctly.

Glad you got it fixed. In the last year I'd say 4 of 5 devices don't get provisioned correctly by the providers it seems. Very frustrating. What's worse I've seen a new device get ordered, then the accounts for the other Blackberries in the firm start getting moved over to a "plan" that doesn't permit working with BES.
