For the love of God, why must I ...

have to reboot my phone to upgrade the Twitter application to my 9700 through AppWorld?! I timed it with a stop watch. 90 seconds to download and install and 5 minutes to re-boot the device. There is absolutely no reason to reboot the device after upgrading an existing application unless it affects the OS.
Does this still happen in OS6?
The T-Mobile G2X super-phone goes on sale in 2 days. My BB days are near their end.

I'm pretty sure that God does not care about your BlackBerry or the Twitter application.
You need to reboot because the application is integrated into the device menus.
Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Yes, the reboot time could be much, much better. But I put up with it because the positives far outweigh the negatives.
I have one app I think, and maybe another, that doesn't require a reboot when upgraded; and all the others except one integrate with the system, as Motorcycle Mama says above. At any rate, I take the reboot requirement for granted. Even on the one or two that don't require a reboot, I do it anyway.
Use the device that best meets your needs. The BlackBerry isn't for everybody.

The re-boot times blow, but the good news is that you rarely have to do it. You can also choose "reboot later" and do the three-fingered salute when it's convenient for you.

lol
I thought I was the only one getting irked by the reboot business.
Anyway, it's not a big deal for me.
