Question Storm or Javellin - help me decide

Please Login to Remove!

My wife just got her new storm and I have the chance to play with it over the last few days. Once I installed .113 the device is excellent. One problem i do have is the accuracy of the keyboard and compared to my 8320, the typing speed is slower.
Other than that, I have to admit the Storm is sleek.

I've had my 8320 for two years and its time to move on. I cant make up my mind between the storm or the curve 8900. Having in mind that Im a heavy email user and use messaging a lot, which device would you choose? The storm or the 8900? I don't really care about the camera and other fancy-pancy...

I love the 8900 coming from an 8310. I was also thinking about going to a storm but I tend to text while driving or text really fast while I'm at work when I'm on point so I needed the keyboard. The storm is sleek I played with a friends the other day when he wanted me to upgrade his os. I just feel better having the keyboard but I never had a storm for a couple of days so if I did I probably would have gotten used to that. This is a good choice but I would say go for the 8900. If you change your mind there is usually someone who would trade the storm for an 8900 or the other way around.

Wirelessly posted (Tmob's cheapest BB customer)

Given that you have heavy email and messaging use, I'd go with the 8900.

I agree, if you're coming from an 8320 and do a lots of typing, the 8900 is the one.

I was deciding between these exact two phones when picking my first BlackBerry (heck, my first smart phone period, I was upgrading from a Nokia 6030). I got to play with a friends Storm little bit and was amazed at how fast I could type with the touch screen. Plus I liked the way it felt when I clicked on a letter. Remember I have had no other phone to really condition me one way or another. I was close to getting two Storms for $200 via the Verizon special, however, my wife did not want to upgrade right now and when she does she does not want or need the ability to text or email (get this, she acctually likes to only use a phone as a phone). Anyway she did want me to keep cost down, both for a new device and a phone plan. As a long time T Mobile customer my decision was made for me. Unlimited talk time, cheap BB service and I got the 8900 for a $100. Was the Storm neat? Yes. Would I one day like to try out a touch screen BB for an extended time? Oh most certainlty yes.

The kicker is that the 8900 (even though I did not get to try it out first) has exceeded my expectations. It has been perfect out of the box with no bugs. (Althouh I still can't get buzzme to run properly on it). Although I liked the BB browser, Bolt has made browsing and inputting coments like this so much easier. And yes, I now see how easy it is to type on this little key board.

All this to say that either way you go you know in the end it will be cool cause it is a BlackBerry.

Happy picking,
rgc
