Default Activation Question

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so typically when I have to replace someone's phone and reactivate them on the BES, most if not all of their settings transfer to the new device. things like ringtones, wallpapers etc are restored on the device. i pretty much hand them a device that is in a state like the old device. emails that haven't been delted are restored. the order of the icons on the home screen, third party apps etc. i hope you get the idea.

today with my device that didn't happen. lost everything. so is this stuff stored on the SIM card or is there some table in the BES database that stores this stuff and if so why would it dissappear?

thanks
Daniel

Wireless Backup stores these backed up settings in the BES sql database.
Perhaps you don't have Wireless Backup enabled for your own BES account?

Not the case. Is it possible that when our Exchange admin moved mine as well as others mailboxes last night my DB could have become coruppted?

Yep, definitely possible.
Also, was your BES account removed and then re-added as part of this move?

If he moved your mailbox to the same server, but a different store, BES would have gotten all kinds of confused. By deleting your account out of BES, you destroyed all of the previous settings. Next time, just bounce the BES services or the server itself when a mailbox gets moved within the same server
