Default Phone Stuck In Hourglass

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I need some input from the pros. I have an 8300 that Im fixing up for a friend. It downloaded new O.S and installed, it showed a good installation via the PC but the device never got off the hourglass screen. I was able to attempt another wipe and load and again the device is stuck on hourglass. The device worked properly before I attempted to update O.S. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

After loading a new OS the hourglass can display for up to an hour on first run. Leave it and wait until it boots and everything should be fine.

A lot of people do the same thing. Some even buy a new phone.

If you get an error then you have to reload the OS but totally agree that the hourglass is a good sign. I've upgraded my os about 7 times since I've got it. Patience is of virtue here.

You upgraded your OS 7 times ??? Which model do you own and how did it allow 7 OS versions up the ladder. I mean even if its a BB 8310 it wud probably at the least come with version 4.2. And the max you can do is 4.5 and then no more to go. Im curious to know what model this is and which OS versions did u upgrade to each time ? Or did you mean you reloaded the same OS 7 times ?

There are variations of the same OS (4.5.x.xxx). Usually bug fixes and what not. Some people will install different variations to see which works better for their device.
