^^ Not sure, i have seen countless Rogers branded Bolds work on Fido. I had one for a little while. Sold it, and then purchased the AT&T one as it was in pristine shape.

I posted multiple links, not pertaining to me directly, but to show that i am not the one at fault here, as i did nothing to cripple the phone in the first place...

However, it shows that this is a commonality amongst the AT&T branded handsets in most cases for some reason...

Whatever, i ordered a new AT&T sim [just gonna activate it prepaid] and i will confirm once and for all if it works on AT&T only, or if the phone as a whole was fubared. Furthermore the guy i bought it from, never got back to me, i tried to reach him a few times after buying it, but he mysteriously disappeared...

I wouldn't say this is common or happens in most cases. There appears to be a few cases. But to say it happens in most cases is a little much IMHO.

More of the story. So you don't know for sure what might have been done to the device before you?

nothing was done, it was a few month old Bold, and i bought it. Worked for a minute or two, removed sim/battery booted up, tried again, nothing from there on out. Not sure what else to tell you.
