Default This WiFi Issue Is Weird

Please Login to Remove!

My BB10 and I have never had a WiFi issue until I tried to log onto a certain WiFi in a particular coffee shop.

I get to the password entry--and I enter the simple password correctly. A network problem error message appears.

Other phones in the same shop at the same time have no problems logging on.
In case I was making a stupid error repeatedly, a store employee tried to log in. She said that she did it exactly correctly, and the same network error message appeared. MY OS is 3062. Rebooting did not help.

How can we fix this? What can be causing it?

did you try to delete the current wifi profile and add it back in again?

The message is:

"Unable to Authenticate against the network. Verify saved security settings." No other person has this problem and I am the only one using a BB.

This is after deleting the profile, deleting it again, and rebooting.

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest the same as Knottyrope. this is a common issue if the original setup is corrupted. Delete it fully and let the phone find the WIFI then reenter the correct information. Watch for a case level when typing the passwords.

Yep. Didn't work. I probably had a profile for the Canadian locations and another profile for the American locations. I deleted both. I still cannot sign onto the American site. The password and case are both correct. In fact, an employee tried to sign on using my phone. She entered the info. I still cannot log on.

As I said, this is weird.

The only thing left is some type of carrier restriction based on the contract you have. All carriers can detect the WiFI use and some do have restrictions especially in some middle east countries. I would not expect any Canadian company to do the same but a call to the carrier may answer some questions. One issue is Fido does have "Zone restrictions" but I'm not sure exactly what that is. Again a call may offer info.

Doing some additional reading it does look like Fido does have WIFI restrictions on some plans. I would make the call.

Great ideas. Thanks for your time.

I'm not using a FIDO SIM. I'm using a T-Mobile SIM with a wholesale user RoamMobile. The only site in North America I cannot get on is the only Second Cup in South Carolina. Everyone else there can, so if it's a router issue, my Q10 is more sensitive than any Android or iphone in the place.
As I said. Weird!
Not the end of the world. But weird, LOL.
