I hope this is not premature, but I think I may have noticed a "slight" improvement in battery life. I always do a firmware upgrade followed by a full overnight charge, and I noticed that the battery life did not flinch too much by the middle of the next day (with my usual moderate use) like how it has been doing with previous firmwares, where by the end of a day it is down by almost half. Will verify this further during the week and report back. Fingers crossed.

the ringtones are very noticebly louder. I had to change every tone from "high" to "mid" volume settings.

Can anyone explain to me why the most recent version on Rogers website is .94?

Will this damage my phone in any way or change anything too drastically since it is not from Rogers? I'm a bit worried about updating..

Default Video camera not accessible?

Greetings Guys,
This weekend did update and just noted that video camera not working. If I click to open video camera will open but controls seem dark or grayed out. After several seconds will close. I recall this working before. Is there somethings I need to do to enable video camera function?
Thanks for any clues,
Doc

Please disregard-whatever dumb spell I was having got camera recording fine.

Well, switched to the official release from the beta. Not sure if it might have solved the battery logevity issue. One thing that stopped working is Google Maps. That sucks!

Well so far so good. Did a full charge yesterday morning. And after 24 hours I still have 70% life left. That was unheard of, at least for me, with the previous .114 firmware. Will see how today goes. Also, I don't use a pouch, only the skin.

does anyone have any info on what changes were done in this version? would be helpful to see what changes were done between .133 and .114.

Video camera works for me.

Battery life does seem improved over .114.

Ring tones are too loud IMO.

Well, I completely wiped the BB and reloaded the OS and installed Google maps from an ALX and everything seems to be good. I will see how the battery holds up during my use. The Beta .133 made my battery only last half the day.

Beta .133 on my 8900 has been great with battery life. If you're using the puch that came with your 8900, your battery will most likely die very quickly. Try it without the pouch for a few days and see what happens.

Dear All,
I hear all the bad drain of factory pouch. I am using OEM Leather Holster from my 8320, not the pouch that came with it. Does this one also cause drain? Has anyone found a holster that will not drain the battery while holstered?
Thanks guys,
Doc

The problem with the pouch that came with the phone was supposedly that it was so tight that it pressed on key(s) at the bottom of the phone when it was in the pouch, thus activating the phone even when the phone was supposed to be "sleeping". The pouches/holsters that you pay real money for are real leather and are made to fit better than the freebee unit. I got a cheapo Curve pouch on ebay for $6 shipped and a real leather one on RIM's site for $20 and even though they both have the BB logo the cheap one is not nearly as nice as the expensive one. I think it's fake leather even though advertised as "leather"

hi, i am a new user to Blackberry, and i got the Pearl which proved to be faulty. I then got it again, and alas it was faulty. in both times it was my batt. I then got the 8900...the battery life is better but i went from full bars to 3 bars overnight (it was turned off). I have been reading around to see how to solve the problem and was told if i upgraded (from reading other posts) my bat will be better. I am in the UK and on Vodaphone - will this still work?
my phone is v4.6.1.109 (Platform 4.2.0.74) - should i upgrade this? on the same note, does anyone have anyother tips about improving batt life?
many thanks,
boris
