Default slightly confused.... help??

Please Login to Remove!

So, the first question should be easily solved by anyone who knows blackberry better than me. I was just wondering what buttons do the "ctrl+alt+del" thingy on the torch. I know it's a combination of alt and shift and delete but not sure why it won't work for me after trying a bunch of random combinations.

Secondly. I have 1 facebook notification that has been there for like 4 months and won't go away. And I went through and opened everything up until even before this was a problem. I had a friend of mine look at it (at the time he looked at it I had 13 that wouldn't go away) he got it back down to just one, but that one won't go away. I'm a little OCD I guess because it is driving me mental just by being there. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?!?!

Also, I know there's a bunch of shortcut type things (like the ctrl+alt+del type one) but I'm not sure what any of them are. I know the mypin one.... but I think that's it. Anyways, any shortcuts (and what they do please) would be awesome!!

Thanks sooo much!

Read the FAQ and check the shortcut link in my sig block.

For the notification, try a batteyr pull - with the device on, remove the battery for about 30 seconds, replace it and let the device reboot. this fixes 90+% of all problems and is the better equivalent to Ctrl-Alt-Del.

I've done several battery pulls (seeing as I don't know the ctrl+alt+del thingy. Lol) it's not worked. That's usually my go-to blackberry fix for, just about, everything. Lol.

Thanks so much!!

Go into Messages, press T, press the Menu Key and select Mark Prior Opened. See if that clears your notification.

Are you sure that it is a facebook notification?

I had the exact same Facebook notification, pulled battery, didn't resolve it, it was driving me mad too.... deleting Facebook did resolve it though! Not ideal but wanted it sorted.

Here's another suggestion. Go to the BlackBerry Beta Zone and Join/Register. Once you've registered, download and install the Facebook 2.0 Beta. Its MUCH better than the current release, seems totally solid - and the instructions tell you to uninstall your current Facebook app (which will certainly get rid of any Facebook notifications) before installing the new beta. That should solve your problem AND give you a much better Facebook application!

The easiest way to get rid of a stuck notification that is not resolved after a battery pull (generally meaning that the notification is still active), is to click on the actually notification items (on the little icon area).

This will bring up a "today" like window which will give you a clickable link to the notification itself. Clicking on this notification should remove the notification.

if its the former version u can click on notifications and then click on the today bar or whatever bar you see, a menu will popup including an option "delete prior" once u click on that your problem will be solved
