Generally no. Although the 9000 has AT&T 3G and the 8900 only has EDGE, tests show them to be about the same under normal use. In ideal conditions, the 9000 would be a little faster on a 3G connection, but too often that connection is not optimal. Call it a tie.

Fast depends on many things, most outside of your control, so it is really hard to say one device is faster than another. However, I think Rambo pretty much laid it out there for you.

Bold 9000 does have a faster processor though. Under ideal conditions, it will be faster than the 8900. Real world, depends on your coverage, etc etc.

Sometimes I wonder why fast is so important on a cell phone. I dont think the networks keep up with them anyway.

Smile Yes and NO !

The processor speed of BB 8900 is 512 MHz while 9000 624 MHz, but
The RAM of BB 8900 is 256 MB while 9000 hosts 128 MB of RAM.

So if you are running one or two processes at a time on both BB Devices, 9000 would surely be the winner so in this case "YES" BB 9000 is faster than 8900, but if you are running a 5 or 6 processes at a time then 8900 would certainly take the lead. So the answer would be "No" in this case.

I don't think it works that way as long as there is adequate free space. Running out of application memory is a problem, but I don't think having 20MB free as opposed to 120MB free makes a difference.
