is it just me or is this one of the most pointless apps ever? One of the 5 features you get is invite a friend? Sounds more like a marketing plan to expand users.

Hey can someone helpe me out.

I downloaded the OTA Facebook app.. used it for like a day, then uninstalled it from my apps list and restarted.

Yet the facebook icon and program are still on my Bberry with no facebook listed in my apps list anymore.

Any Idea??

I'm running 8700g, 4.2.1.96.

Thanks!!

I'm getting this error as well and am on AT&T with my APN/TCP set correctly as well as v4.2+ software on the 8800. So does anyone know how to resolve this error?

FYI, I finally got my 8830 on Verizon and BES to work. Just had to change the notification email address in Facebook to the email address associated to my Blackberry.

I just read that it may have to do w/ the OS you have. Some were saying that they had this problem with the older OS but not after updating their OS.

I am using an older one so that may be the culprit.

I've had the "there was an error when contacting Facebook" issue when trying to login for sometime now with the new Facebook app on my 8800 with Rogers. I found this article and did as
the guy says and voila, it works:

Hey man, I was getting the same thing on my Curve. IAfter some searching I found this link: http://www.blackberry.com/facebook/mobiledownload

Go there with you computer and hook up your BB to it. After you install the Active X stuff to your comp, it will load to your BB...

Its working fine for me now---so you may want to try downloading it again if you still want it

Is anyone else getting double notifications in the app? Like, if I get a wall post, Facebook will send two notifications to my BB app of the same thing. I went here: (http://____.facebook.com/editaccount.php?notifications) and there doesn't seem to be any sort of configuration for the BB app. Any ideas?

EDIT: NM, I figured it out.
