Default No voicemail notification with sprint 9650

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I just upgraded my wife's Curve to this phone but it doesn't notifiy me of a new voicemail message. The only indication that there is a new message is the symbol on the top. I even tried a hard reset with the help of tech support. Anyone with similar problems?

Have you checked the Profile in use to make sure it has the alert volume up and not muted? Mine came from the factory with some of the alerts muted and I had to change them manually.

Unfortunately, it's not a matter of being muted. There is no notification in the message inbox as well. My other BBs have it, just not with this Bold.

jaferd,

This seems to be strange issue. I would first back up the device and perform a full wipe to eliminate the smartphone as a variable. If it doesn't resolve the issue, i would contact my wireless provider for assistance.

Did that already. The tech person didn't know how to fix it. I may bring it back for another one and see.

That started happening to my Tour when I upgraded to OS 5.0... I would try contacting blackberry support opposed to Sprint. The manufacturer has more in-depth insight when it comes the things of this nature.

sOON AS i UPGRADED TO os 5 MINE IS DOING SAME THING. sPRINT HAS NO ANSWERS..
iM GONNA JUST GO BACK TO 4.7 i GUESS... AT LEAST ALERTS WORK..!

I've had the same problem ever since I bought the phone; the day it came to the stores. I've tried everything except get help from Sprint or Blackberry support.

I spoke with Sprint Support today and they informed me that the BB 9650 does not have "voice mail notification" other than the "icon" that appears on top of the screen.
There is nothing that can be done, hard to believe a business phone without that.

I'm new to BB. Had the same problem with voice mail, only getting the icon. Updated to 810 and now get notified.

Yep, I went through this when I first got my Bold. Talked to Sprint,they said it was a RIM decision, not a malfunctioning phone, or "bug" in the software. What I did that made me love the Bold was got youmail. A free program, it will send a text, email, or both alerting you you have voicemail. I even have mine set up where it sends me the voice mail. I pick it up off my BoldBerry. It saves it like a little audio clip. So, you can get two or even three alerts you have voicemail with youmail, and it works a treat on the BoldBerry.
