I installed the new OS 5.0 for the Tour last night and it wiped out all my MMS saved messages. VZ does not have a clue. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Not sure but did you have a backup of your data?

The install process should have created a backup file... do a search in your MyDocuments folder for a file named LoaderBackup (yyyy-mm-dd).ipd. If it's there you can do an advanced restore and pull your mms/sms messages back to your device.

I've had similar issues with the MMS database not being restored. Since they're important to me, I take a separate backup in addition to the loader backup and, when the restore process fails to work for MMS (which is always), I follow the steps outlined by fonejunkie and get my MMS back.
