Your profile says you have a Bold? is that a 9000 BOLD or a 9700 BOLD2? The OS in post one is for the 9700. Just checking!

Definitely the best release yet for the 9700.

No sms issues, no profile issues (even though this was resolved previously), great battery life and best of all no little quirky bugs. Hopefully future releases don't diminish from this build.

Google Apps.

I downloaded and installed 5.0.0.680. Google Apps does not work. I check all the permissions and they are set to what they should be.
Strangely enough, the Blackberry App World also is not working. it is telling me that it has trouble connect to the Blackbery App World. Other mobile apps do work (Yelp, Bloomberg, etc.) and I can browse the web OK.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

UPDATE: NEVER MIND. IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH T-MOBILE

Thanks
Warren

It seems to be something to do with use of a MicroSD card. I happen to have a 16GB one that's full of music (about 50MB free) so there are around 2500 files on it in various folders. The card seems to work perfectly.

If I delete the 'voicenotes' folder on the card, the recorder works fine and voicenotes are stored in the root of the Blackberry folder on the card. If the device even gets rebooted, it puts the 'voicenotes' folder back on the card and the problem returns, to the point were I get an uncaught exception often whilst trying to exit a recording being made. I reformatted the card yesterday, by the way. Didn't help.

Sadly I can't find a setting to force the recorder to store to internal memory, which would be an ok work-around if it worked.

Anyone got a similiar set up and can try and reproduce the problem?

I know this is probably a silly question but is it OK to install the East Asia OS on an English 9700. I want to retain the English set-up.

Many thanks.

Default new problem...not sure if its the software or something else

caller ID will often (not always) show the most recent person i was talking to even though its a different person calling....even so much as if i'm on a call with someone and i get a new call beep the new number will be the person i'm actually talking to that had called me first...

has anyone had this problem and would we think this is the software? tmobile has no idea

I haven't seen this. So far Caller ID has worked as expected. Have you tried a battery pull to see if that clears things up?

I used to use the manager, but since reading this thread I have been using the Loader.exe. Please note that I have been following all the 3 steps in the original thread. Still no joy...

I love the new Theme Preview ... in Options>Themes. Really nice work and looks uber modern!

Great job RIM.

Now its time to purchase another lot up there and build a whole new, underground server farm and BOOST fibre network for the NOC nodes.

Default Inputting Japanese Text

Hi all,

New user (to both Blackberry and this forum) here.

I'm having issues in being able to input Japanese text. I can view Japanese language in mail and websites no problem, as well as have the whole menu structure of my 9700 be shown in Japanese but am not given the option to select Japanese text input method (all other East Asian languages are available though after installing this OS...).

I've browsed around and tried numerous OS versions, issued from various carriers, but the same issue - no Japanese input available.

Is anyone else having this issue? Any workarounds?

My 8900 was so simple to set this up on (using its relevant OS from Orange UK), and I feel I'm installing the individual OSs correctly (loading onto PC, deleting vendor.xml, and then using the loader.exe)

But no joy with this, or other previous OS versions for the 9700. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
