Default Trouble Updating the OS

Please Login to Remove!

I just got the Bold 9000 home and it's running 4.6.0.304. The latest download from AT&T is 4.6.0514 and I downloaded it from AT&T.

I then followed the instructions in the sticky about going to program files/common files/RIM - delete the vendor file, launch the Loader, etc. When I get to the screen that lists all the applications - it says "none" for update on all of them. Which is odd...

Really, I thought this kind of thing would be done through the Desktop Manager - but found no instructions on how to do that...

I am running Windows 7 in case that is a factor here.

Just wondering how to get 4.6.0.514 running...

4.6.0.514 is the package number.

4.6.0.304 is the latest AT&T official release

Try restarting the compy... Also, try running as an admin and then for xp or vista compatibility modes... I had some issues when I tried 7


Are you running a 32x or 64x? I had 64 and sometimes it just didn't want to cooperate

4.6.0.304 is the latest from AT&T.

Not sure where you're seeing 4.6.0.514. I don't see that anywhere on the AT&T download site.

Again, .304 is the OS, but the package version of that OS is .514.

So basically 304 and 514 are the same thing and that is why it is saying "none" in regard to update?

I did try the run as administer "song and dance" by the way...

Actually, I found out last night I can't receive mail only send. I will go into BIS and send the service books - hopefully that will take care of that issue...

Yes, package 514 = OS 304.

Thanks... BB just confirmed this for me as well via telephone. I had to call because I can't receive emails. There is a known issue today with new users being unable execute email. They are working on it (just in case anybody else is having trouble.)
