Default Email Redirect with MS Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

Hopefully someone can help? I am a BB newbie and have a BB 7520. I have set up my BB Weblclient through Nextel with two POP 3 email addresses. I have a spam filter set on my MS Outlook messages and it works great. My simple question is this; How do I set up a filter so only the messages from my FILTERED Outlook Inbox get redirected and not the messages that are dropped down into my junk mail folder on MS Outlook.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I use McAfee Spam Killer on a Pc at home. It checks my mail messages and pulls what it id's as spam from the mail server. It checks about every 10 minutes, so the timing is about right for when the web client checks my mail. I am getting about 95% of the spam filtered out this way. Plus, when I download my messages on Outlook, there is little or no spam ther.
I know Norton offers a spam reducing program also, so that could be another option.
I tried the Desktop redirection software and hated it.

I use the Norton Internet Security program and it does a good job clearing out the SPAM. The problem I am having is that the WebClient is sending ALL of my email messages (including the SPAM) to my BB. How can only the filtered INBOX of MS Outlook be forwarded to the BB?

Does Norton only work in Outlook?
Spam Killer works as a program running in the background, and removes the spam from the server before I download it. I download my mail into Outlook when I get home.
I guess if Norton only works in Outlook, the Web Client is probably pulling the spam from the server before it is downloaded into Outlook. How long do you have the send/receive timer set? Does Outlook delete the mail from the server when it is downloaded?

Default have the same issue

i run outlook 03 as client for my exchange 03. i have serious anti spam filters running on the server but some leaks thru or i'd be losing valid mail from too aggressive server filtering.

you're talking about the client side anti spam msft filtering. you'd have to either set outlook antispam to delete those mails (not me, since about 25% is valid email) or set up rules in outlook or one of the third party utils to move the alleged spam to a folder that's a real folder not selected for synching. my impression is the msft "spam folder" is not a true folder but another view of your inbox like "large email's" is

i may be wrong, but most anti spam services work on email after it is downloaded & it simply moves what it sees as unwanted email to a folder besides your inbox. the nextel web client (i use it too) has filters but they are not really advanced to work as antispam service. so that being said, no, with the web client it is not possible to get only filtered email. if you are recieving an annoying amount of spam i would possibly suggest changing your email address. everyone views this as impossible but email everyone in your contact list, tell them you are changing your adderss after a set date, do it & possibly keep the old address for a while to monitor for any incoming email that you may want. its a thought.

best of luck

Default anti spam server apps for exchange server

can be installed in front of exchange or integrated w exchange. the ones in front can be on same machine or different. i use gfi mailessentials on a different machine. my internet mail record points to that machine which does its very effective anti spam job and then sends mail over to my exchange server. at outlook client level, i have msft outlook 03 antispam filtering just set to segregating into junk folder. yes, that gets synched to my bb via bes even though the junk folder is not selected.

Spam Killer (I am running 4.0-hated 5) runs continuously on a PC at my home. It checks mail, and those that it thinks may be spam, it removes from the mail server. It does it often enough that I seldom get any spam coming through.

Default if anything my anti spam app is too effective.

i have to tinker with it to selectively loosen it up: tends to rely too much on blocking mail with bodies containing any of a long list of phrases, some of which legit corp emailers use.
