Default Migrate HH OS 4.3 device to BB Domain 5.0

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I wondering how everybody is migrating their users that running hand held software 4.3 to their new Blackberry Domain 5.0?

A little background if needed. I'm currently running BES 4.1.6 and I have built out a new server running 5.0.1mr2 with a new database. I can use the migration tool to move the majority of my users, but I have a few that are running hand held os 4.3. I see that isn't supported by the transporter.

I see a couple options are just try it and there is a chance the IT policy might not be applied. Also I know I could wipe the handheld and enterprise activate on the new BES. Also recommended is to upgrade the handheld to version 4.5.

I'm just wondering if there is a way to move the user without having to wipe out all the users information on the hand held.

Thanks for any input you provide!

Backup device, upgrade OS, activate, restore from backup anything that is missing.

There is no easy way with OS 4.3

Thanks Knotty. That is what I was thinking, but just wanted to see if there were any other options.

Get the users a new device with OS 4.5 or higher would work too.
