Default Migrating BES servers

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am planning on migrating users from an Exchange 2010 hosted service with BES to an in-house Exchange 2010 with BES.

During the transition time, I will have both Exchange and BES servers running at the same time.

Can I have 2 BES servers running at the same time with half of the BES users on one server and the other half on the other BES server ?

My plan is to do :
- disable BES user1 on old_server
- enable BES user1 on new_server
- send activation to user1 from new_server ( which will wipe the device )
- repeat step for user2 and so on ...

Thanks

Have you thought about using the BlackBerry Enterprise Transporter Tool? I am not sure if you could use it for hosted exchange/bes as i have not dealt with either.

I am using the tool to move users from what was originally a test server to a productions environment. I have not had to re-activate any of the users.

You should be able to get the software from blackberry.com

Doubt the hoster will allow access to the database, most of the time they are running many domains on one database.
