Default well managed to mess up my brand new cingular pearl... deleted lang files

Please Login to Remove!

got a new cingular pearl today that replaced an unlocked 7100t that replaced a stolen 7130c

great phone- of course i went in and deleted the optional language stuff from applications- this seems to be giving me Java exceptions thought, and now there is no cingular firmware download yet to re-install

anyone found the cingular firmware/system software yet?

This doesn't help your situation, but I deleted most of my lang files and haven't encountered the error yet. BUT - I'll be watching this thread for the answer just in case.

Thats odd. Are you sure you didn't delete something that was not a language file? I also removed all of mine without any issues. Sorry, no help here either, however.

Any third party applications? They normally throw the uncaught exceptions.

You are (kind of) hurting until Cingular (or someone) release 4.2.0.69. The only thing I would do is download 4.2.0.67 and try and install that. It will have to downgrade the BB from .69 to .67, but there isn't .69 around anywhere.

yeah well it only happens when i try and edit the profiles- i think they are expecting to see the language modules and so are throwing that exception

but it is not a deal breaker, so for now i will wait on cingular to release .69

If you are brave and know what you deleted you could try taking them from .67 and loading just those with javaloader. jibi or nj can give more advice on that.

Default my recommendation

unless you use ptt or some other Cingular specific feature, install .67. I had those java.lang errors with .42 TMO, gets really irritating after a while. .67 is a pretty good build, I have been using it for a couple of weeks or so.
