Good evenning, I've searched through the forum to see if there was a case like the one im about to explain but I didnt have any luck finding something like it. If someone could help me, it would be highly apreciated.

I just bought a BB 8520 without any plans, only prepaid to make phone calls and sms, only using wifi to connect to the internet but the problem is that when I stop using the BB for some minutes the internet connection doesnt work.

example 1: I click on the whatsapp icon, it opens, i click on a contact but it doesnt show last time seen.

example 2: I open the browser, i type any web adress and it doesnt connect to the website

I have to retry like for another 2 or 3 times till it displays the website. On that moment I know that the internet is working fine again and I can surf and connect properly to whatsapp or fb again.

Do you guys have any ideas how to solve that? I cant change anything on the browser settings because of my carrier, I use OS 5.0.0.1036

BlackBerrys are different than other phones.
The WiFi will not work unless you have a BlackBerry Data Plan.
That is why Whatsapp and the Browser and Facebook don't work.

You need to get a BlackBerry Data Plan for any of those to work.

But then why I can normally surf on the web but that only happens when the phone is inactive for some minutes? It's like it goes into a sleep mode and when I try to start any app that requires internet it has to to reconnect. That's the only way I could explain it.

You need a BlackBerry Data Plan. Bottom line.
