I know alot of people has had problems with static in the high frequencies using A2DP with alot of different BB models.
It was very easy to identify by just trying the same song & BT headset on another non-BB phone, where the audio would be crystal clear (well, as clear as A2DP gets anyway) while the BB's would be crackling away.

Upgraded to 4.5 yesterday, and much to my immense pleasure the static is gone and BB A2DP now sounds like intended!

This was an 8820.

I've experienced the same issue on an 8830 w/ OS v4.2.2. Upgraded to 4.5.077 and distortion still seems to be there using A2DP. Which OS version did you upgrade to? Did you have to change any settings?
