Default 9000 completely bricked.

Please Login to Remove!

so i got this awesome phone for $10 off someone who isn't very learned with technology.

seems the battery was shot so i bought a brand new one and its been working perfectly ever since. well i did have to wipe it with cmder and upgraded to 4.6 to get it back to full functionality but thats nothing.

a few days ago i plugged in the phone via usb to remove some pictures, i didn't get the hardware ding which sort of threw me off. upon being plugged in the phone would display the clock but not get recognized by my laptop. i plugged it out and than back in and then the screen when completely black and the phone shut off.

i get no response from the phone at all whether plugging it into the wall or the usb. nothing. no led indicators, no sounds, nothing. not even a hard reset will do anything

i searched here and on other various forums and the solution in cases like this seems to be taking the battery out and leaving it to stand over night; i tried that and still have nothing

i went to a phone place and they claim they can fix it for $35, which sort of surprises me since i figure what can they do that i cant do with a bricked phone?

is the phone beyond saving at this point?

Welcome to the forums.

Can you get the device to connect if you do this:
What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

Be patient, it may take multiple attempts.

Also, let it charge for about 4 hours, remove the battery for 30 seconds and continue to let it charge.

also another tip:

try removing the battery and connecting the device to your pc with the usb with the battery still removed. wait for the red LED to go away and your screen should come up with a "no battery" icon. at that point, put the battery back in and allow it to boot up.

still no progress after letting it sit and letting it charge. i've also tried the apploader method, it further convinces me something is wrong with the phone internally since it wont power up and wont be detected.

thanks for the welcome.

How long did you leave the battery out overnight? Try at least 24 hours, 48 hours would be the best.

Had a similar problem with my 9000. Turned out it was a bad battery. Did a warranty replacement and it has been working fine ever since.

Nobody knows what exactly happens and why it works, but it does.

Miamirulz29, saw your sig and wondered if you knew that "Cesar" was not a name but a political title. Similar to president, senate leader, etc. "The Cesar, Augustus" would be closer to the truth. Sorry for the hijack.

A movie I'll never see. Cesar is still a title. That is all.

That would be about the minimum amount of time it would take in order to drain a small capacitor.

Wow, for someone who input nothing of substance to this thread, that's a pretty bold statement. I don't understand why you are taking offense, you didn't offer any assistance. You also criticized someones signature for no apparent reason, and when told it was actually a quote from a movie, you still had a negative remark. Why all the disrespect? If you have a problem, please contact a moderator and try not to crap in other people's threads.

guys, my friend's has completely bricked. he was trying to upgrade off a Mac. during the upgrade process it died and said it couldn't connect.

I tried the link above -
What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

it dies when trying to reconnect to JVM. i tried wiping via JL Commander again. for a split second i got the white screen "507" and Apploader showed me the PIN and then went back unknown-usb. Trying to reload again ...
