Default RIM Buys NewBay

Please Login to Remove!

according to PhoneScoop.Com, Research In Motion today confirmed that it has agreed to purchase NewBay for an undisclosed sum. Ireland-based NewBay is a white-label provider of mobile content services, such as social networking, photo, and video tools, to wireless network operators. RIM indicated that the purchase will be immaterial to its financial standing, though the deal has yet to close.

Was wondering why but based on the work they do on Social apps alone it looks like RIM may think thats the direction of the Cell world and it's a good place to be .

As long as Rim is not paying to much for it, i think its a good idea, they need to do something, Rim is just being to laid back, and wacthing the cmpany ride, no sense of innovation anymore. am really getting pissed at Rim's management lately..
Rim needs to basically have 2 sets off devices, one thats geared for Work and one for play, Android and Iphones are both toy devices, but they are kicking the blackberry's butt. Why does blackbery come out with a device one year after its competitors put there out... and by then the the comp has moved to a better technology
