On your PC go to C:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared\<your OS folder> and delete the DocumentsToGo.alx file. Then when you run Application Loader it will see your newer version and won't downgrade it.
I'm not sure about the Verizon themes, is there another Verizon Icon theme? The Verizon Zen theme is the one that requires you to push the Menu key (button with the BB logo on it.)

Everything works even better with the new OS but after AIM stopped working I thought I would delete it and reinstall it. problem is, blackberry.com/aim doesn't work and I'm not interested in paying $20 for beejive. Is there a download somewhere for blackberry aim besides blackberry.com?

anyone having issues with Empower Pro on this O.S? I can't see the text in my emails. I have to switch from "html" to "text". I've tried removing and reinstall this app. I contacted support but no answer as of yet

@riggawaggel-- try mobile.blackberry.com
@ash146 -- I don't believe it does currently, I have seen some other posts here on the Forums on Empower + OS 4.5, you might look around and see what others are doing.

Just noticed something in the last few days. After upgrading to 4.5.0.75/4.5.0.52 on my 8320 when I am connected by EDGE and WiFi (either at home or at a hotspot) all my browsing and email seems to be coming through EDGE. As indicated by the activity on MiniMoni. I have to switch off my Mobile Network to strictly use WiFi for data. Which means I can't send/receive calls. Back on 4.2 I could surf for hours without chewing up my $hitty Rogers data plan. Here are my settings:
MOBILE NETWORK OPTIONS
Data Services: On
Connection Preference: Wi-Fi Preferred
Mobile Network: ROGERS
Network Selection Mode: Automatic
BROWSER OPTIONS, GENERAL PROPERTIES
Default Browser: Hotspot Browser

What is the difference between package version and application version. I got a OS software from RIM internal resource. In the Option->About, the version reads 4.5.0.55. Is this application version or package version. BTW, the OS supports Asian Languages.

That's the application version. That version has been released for some of the other models but not the 8320 yet.

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8320:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
...blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 45 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device[/QUOTE]
Help! I feel like the only one that's having trouble with this...I went to the link above and chose "BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.5" and then downloaded the "Desktop Manager 4.5.0 B16 English - With Media Manager" file. The download went smoothly, I rebooted my laptop, deleted the vendor.xml file, plugged in my BB, and opened up the Device Manager but I was not prompted to upgrade. My Desktop Manager now says I have version 4.5.0.15 installed. Can anyone help me out? I'm not sure how to get the new OS onto my phone, this is my last hope to make my phone stop restarting compulsively. Did I download the wrong file? Should I try redownloading again?

I also don't have "Memory Cleaning" and I'm on 4.2

You're halfway there. You installed DM 4.5. Now install the 4.5 OS to your computer, as wel and delete the vendor.xml again. Use the link above.

Wirelessly posted
I installed it easily, and everything is working smooth. I love docs to go and the vid recorder! My only two complaints/questions are: Is there a way to open up a word/excel/ppt doc from the browser in docs to go? Also, both my friend and I have been unable to get youtube vids working in the hotspot browser. Anything that we should know?? Thanks

Thanks for the quick response! In fear of sounding like an idiot...how do I go about installing the 4.5 OS to my computer...I also didn't see a link above. Clearly I'm new at this...

Other than the video camera, improved AIM version, youtube capabilities, playlist option and new media player interface, what else is new on this new OS? Oh I did notice all my AIM messages appear in my messages folder as if it was a text or email, which is good since its one less screen/icon I have to select to get back to the conversation. But what else is new?
