Default ATT not wanting to unlock my 9000

Please Login to Remove!

I've been an ATT customer for at least the last 5 years. I just called them to get an unlocking code and was told that ATT is in the middle of a lawsuit and can not distribute unlocking codes. Did I get a bad rep or is this real? Don't want to spend another 20 minutes on hold trying in vain. Worst case I'll pay for one.

Thanks !

I would try a couple more calls. As long as you are a customer in good standing and paid the bills they should. Otherwise contact Horizonwirelessonline, one of our sponsors for an unlock code.

Default Unlock

I called ATT at the end of June, told them I was going overseas and they gave me the code for my 9700. You have to go through all the menus on the phone, and explain it to an agent, and then figure out how to enter it, because they don't know. I got the 9800 last week and decided to unlock it with Horizon and for $6.00 CAD it was real easy and took all of 5 minutes to do. Either way you get to the same place, depends on the road you want to take.

yes, hell is the appropriate term for them. I was going overseas (actually) and wanted it unlocked, I had 3 different reps give me 3 different codes and permalocked my old phone. They actually sent me a new one under a warranty replacement, but took them a week and a half to send the correct code (said they had to get it from BB). I was in the middle of my trip, but still finally got it. I should have just sucked it up and paid the money from the get go.

I had the same issues with AT&T, so I went to the following site:

Global Unlock Codes -- Unlock your phone for $1.99!

They provided me the code and it was only $1.99 US

A very small price to pay for no greef from AT&T
