Default Business Card Reader App

Please Login to Remove!

I hope I am posting this in the right place...

I am new to this site, and I am considering upgrading to the Bold/9000. I am already a WM user, and the WM upgrade I am considering is the Fuze... One application that is on it that I have always liked is the WorldCard Mobile app...

If you're not familiar with it, you can just take a pic of a business card and it will read the info and automatically add it to your contacts... A great tool for someone that's always networking and at trade shows and what not...

So My questions is... Is there anything like this for Blackberry's at all?? I have searched, on here, and on other forums, as well as google and some other sites and no luck... I would think a business hone would have such an app that makes things so much easier.

That is one that I have not seen.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if there was/is an OEM app already on them and I just never knew it cause I am new to BBs. As long as these devices have been around, I am kind of surprised there isn't one for them.

There is a program called ScanR (scanR :: Scan, copy, and fax with your camera phone) which requires a subscription. I don't know if it can populate contact records from a photo of a business card though.

I haven't seen one for the BB directly, but they do exist for a PC-Outlook connection, which can then sync with the BB.
