Default T-Mobile Germany starts delivery of Curve 8900

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that T-Mobile Germany started delivery to customers.

Yesterday 15 Curve 8900 arrived, software OS 4.6.1.76.

b.t.w. a 8 GB class 4 micro sd card works perfectly,
activation on BES works (after updating device.xml)
software delivery, too.
- needed new version of google maps for 4.6.1 (former Bold version didn't work).

Greetings,
Blackbaer

As they come unlocked out of the box, you can use a Javelin from T-Mobile Germany with any GSM-carrier you want. But be aware that devices from Germany have a different keyboard layout. The Z and Y are switched on a German BlackBerry keypad. The only exception is the Storm. On the Storm the keyboard layout can be configured as you like, e.g. QWERTZ, QWERTY or AZERTY.

The Javelin is a really great device. Unlike with my first Bold, I didn't have any software issues at all with the Javelin. There are some translation errors (English->German), but I can live with that. The Javelin is only missing 3G, I don't need 3G on a BlackBerry.

Now I just need to get one! I don't care if it's QWERTZ really as I am so used to QWERTY that provided the key layout software can be changed, I am happy with it - Can this be software adjusted (i.e so the physical Z key can be mapped to Y)?

Hi there - could you please let me know what the SAR is for the 8900? It should be in the documents in the box. Many thanks!

No, this can't be adjusted. Only the Storm allows this.
