Default Using PIN Messaging for IM

Please Login to Remove!

My boy friend's company has disabled all IM programs- (BB, Yahoo, Google) but he can still use PIN messaging. Does anyone know how we can use PIN as a modified chat?

Can we have the PIN messages go to a separate folder instead of the general message folder? Is there a program out there that can do that?

I have a 8320 and he has an 8830

PIN messages ONLY go to the Messages folder. There's no way around that. The only "chat" for pin messaging is BBMessenger.

This may be what you're looking for:
In BBM, go to options and set 'Show conversations in messages list = No'.

The OP says they can't use BBMessenger so that option won't help.

Wirelessly posted (Curve 8310)

Huh? Is PIN Messaging really different than BlackBerry Messenger? They're both PIN-to-PIN in the end aren't they? So why would you block one without the other in BES land?

Are you on BES? It's possible there's an IT policy that doesn't let PINs out from your BlackBerry. I am not on BES though so I'm just trying to help.

I am on a BES server. I can receive PIN messages and I can send a BB msgr message to anyone inside and outside my network.

The PIN message shows up in red, but when I try to reply it only allows me to save it as a draft.

I have friends who's company has done the exact same thing. I can send them PIN messages but they can't reply, however, they can use BBMessenger with no problems. It is a BES setting.

There is no way around the IT policy. They're there for a reason. Trying to circumvent it is not worth the risk, i.e potential termination.

Best to stick to what's working for ya
