Default How to set 'My Number' ?

Please Login to Remove!

Might be a simple question but I have scanned the web / user guides etc and I can't find out how to do it !

I have a BB7230 and when I go into the phone application the 'My Number' shows as unknown. Now - I know what my number is and the phone works but how do I get the display to show my number. I just want it on then so if anyone asks me my number I can just click on the phone app and it will be displayed.

Anyone know ?

Go into the Phone application, click the wheel and select Options, then General Options. Make sure that "Show My Number" is set to Yes.

You can edit the my number field in V4.0 firmware. You cant do it on earlier versions from memory. If you already have V4.0, go to options, SIM card and then click the trackwheel in and select Edit SIM Phone Number

Also, reboot your BB (by removing and re-inserting the battery) after you change the SIM phone number for it to reflect the change.

Thanks for all your replies.

I went into the general options section and there isn't a 'show my number'.

The only choices I get are...

Auto Answer - Never
Auto Hangup - Into Holster
Confirm delete - Yes
Restrict my identity - No
Sort by - Most recent
Dial from home - Yes

Any ideas?

What version of the BB software are you running. It's there in 4.0.

You can also call your carrier, get in touch with the BlackBerry/data support team and ask them to send down the Over The Air (OTA) update to show the number. That's how I've done if pre 4.0.

yah if it shows up as Unknown Number then the carrier has to push something to your device or have a specific soc on there

Since I have all my phone numbers in the "(xxx) xxx-xxxx" format, I was trying to get my phone number to be shown in the same format, but since its on the SIM card, it can't store characters other than numbers. So I am stuck with "1 xxx xxx xxxx" (with spaces in between)
