Default Can BB e-mail do this?

Please Login to Remove!

I have filters setup on the BWC/BIS. These filters move the messages to their respective folders. I've noticed that all of the email still shows up on the main screen of my BB and the folders. I tried selecting the "hide filed messages" but it doesn't work. Is there a way to only view generic messages on the main message screen and keep the filed / routed messages hidden? I considered using ReqWireless E-mail but it wouldn't work for me and their tech support wasn't to helpful. I tried various searches for a solution but I didn't turn anything up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm using a VZW 7250.

Cool Keep your fingers crossed...

As far as I know, the filters on BWC/BIS only apply to BWC/BIS. I think the email is pushed before it's displayed on webclient.

One other option to try might be just to double check that you've selected NOT to forward the messages to the handheld on each filter. You should then be able to still see them filed in the folders, but not in the main message screen.

i THINK this will work....

Let us know.

Thanks I tried it but no success. I was wondering how people who get alot of email on their BB sort it, instead of having it all dump on that main screen.

Someone had a post on a very effective method on how to accomplsih this. I think it was sort of like a 'rule' that you have to set up.

For instance, hit alt-p to show your E-mail sent to your personal address, which shows only the messages you want it to through the rule.

Link anyone?!?

Sorry?

It's just a saved search - you compose your search criteria, and assign it a hotkey, then you can flip amongst them on demand.

All email sent to/from the BlackBerry gets displayed in the one message box. It's how the software was written.

In your BlackBerry Web Client, if you set up a rule to file messages, and not forward them to the BlackBerry, you will not be able to use the "view folders" option to see them as they have not been delivered to the BlackBerry. The "view folders" option is for if you receive an email and use the "file" option to file it into a sub folder.

Nice trick with the saved searches. I like that one.

Thanks sempai

How do I edit the existing shortcuts? E.g. I do not care about seeing all outgoing messages, current stored as Alt + O. I want to change that to one of my personal E-mail accounts.

You can not change the pre-assigned hot keys (ALT-O, ALT-S, etc.)

In OS4 you can. Go to Messages > Search > Recall. There you'll see a list of saved searches that you can edit/delete, or add new ones.
