Can anyone please help me. I have a BB 8520 (second hand) when i put my sim card in it would turn on and the sim was visable but when you started to make a call it always said "call failed"? then suddenly the scean went blank and now when you turn it on all you get is the little timer going round and nothing else can anyone please help me.

Maybe it isn't the phone's fault. Have you considered that? Maybe you need to return it and get your money back?

Where did you buy it? Is the device unlocked? Is it compatible with you carrier's network? Is it properly registered on your carrier's network? Does the SIM card work in another device?

it was bought from ebay, i have tried it with many different sim cards and they all work fine just wont let you call anyone. My biggest problem now is the phone just doesnt turn on, i have had it charging for 2 hours now and all it is doing is the little timer i thought maybe it had been stolen but i have a friend in Vodafone and he has checked the imei and it isnt registered. Could really do with some advice

Buying a used BB isn't as easy as buying any other cell device. You might have purchased some else's problems. We need more information than what you have already given.

Are you sure that it is an 8520?

Is it unlocked? That might be part of the problem with the SIM cards not working.

Have you registered the phone with your carrier?

Have you tried a new OEM battery?

Will it connect to Desktop Manager on your PC?

have you ever try to do update of your software with desktop manager?

I have just plugged it into my PC and it gets a red LED light come on but then it goes off again and the white screen with the timer comes back up? does this mean it is charging? i would of thought that the light would need to be on constant to charge? It is definetly a BB Curve 8520.
