its a Verizon thing, their berries don't get wifi. I'm sure the Vodaphone ones will have it though, that the GSM one. not sure about dates though.

Verizon has fairly fast data services to begin with which probably contributes to the lack of WiFi built into BB phones. I'd be curious to see what percentage of owners of BB's also own laptop computers and what percentage use their WiFi in their phone outside of their home. That would probably give you some concrete evidense why it's not included.

For me, WiFi in a phone is useless.

I think you hit the nail on the head. After being with AT&T for the past year plus, I understand why WiFi is a big deal. Their 3G network sucks. I do wish VZW didn't lock down GPS, but that's another feature that I don't really miss. If I needed it bad enough, I'd pay the $10 a month.

You got a point there becuase I believe VZW's "unlimited" data plan is capped at 5gb, with a more robust browser that could be a problem with heavy usage.

especially if you like streaming media. I do on my current device and would like to do so on any new one. Something like Pandora does use alot of data over time. but for most 5 GB is plenty, but also if you travel and don't want to use cell data overseas then your out of luck.
