Question 4.5 OS universal?

Please Login to Remove!

I've heard a lot of people say that 4.5 OS is going to eventually be released on all platforms and will work on all(most) current Blackberry models out there. Is referring to specific builds of 4.5, such as 4.5.0.37? Or just to 4.5 in general and the builds are still model specific? Just asking because I found 4.5.0.37, and currently have 4.5.0.18 for my 8100but it seems people are saying .37 is for 8300 series only. Didn't know if it would work on my Pearl.

The builds are model specific.
4.5.0.37 is NOT just for the 8300.
Many versions are out there.

Yes, 8700 and beyond will have 4.5 OS. There will be a designated 4.5 for each device.

9000 will have 4.6

OS 4.5 will be released in different packages for different devices for the entire 8000 series family, depending on the specific carrier and their wishes to continue future support for older devices (namely the 8100, 8300, and 8700, which will all no longer be manufactured after the summer months).

OS 4.6 will be released on the 9000 and 9100 devices.

OS 5.0 will pick back up and should be developed all of the above devices, with the exception of the 8700 series.

...after that is a guessing game. This is for GSM devices only, but I do know that the 8703e, 8130, 8830, and 8330 will have support for OS 4.5 for the CDMA device families.

Thanks for the info. .18 was very buggy for me, so looks like it's back to Rogers .109 for now.
