Default Transferring data from OS 4 device to the Z10

Please Login to Remove!

After a few years without a Blackberry, I finally decided to return to it once again. I now have Z10.

However, I am facing a big problem - i have lots of notes (around 400) which are stuck in an old back up of my BB 8700. I also have the device itself which still works partially.

Is there a way I can transfer the notes from my BB8700 to the Z10? Or is there a way I can transfer then to Evernote and than import them in the reminder app?

Maybe use desktop manager to sync to outlook, but I have seen that Z10 does not sync notes.

P
Please help

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but BlackBerry Link will allow a one-time transfer from a BBOS device to a BB10 device. Download Link and try it.

My memory is notes transferred to the the Remember app database when I did a device switch from 9900 to Z10.....but that was an OS7 device to BB10. I'm not sure what issue you are having exactly, unless the Link softare just doesn't reach back that far. That is what it sounds like.

Did you try doing a backup using the Desktop software and then restoring using Link? I'm wondering if Link will put the notes in the Remember app database or not. I don't know.

If you are asking how to get the notes from the 8700 into Evernote, then offhand I don't know the answer. Was there an Evernote app that ran on the 8700? Is there an Outlook utility? I don't know, but FYI if you do get the notes into Evernote, I don't know away to copy or move them to the Remember app folders onboard the device. That is, your Evernote folders will sync with the Rember app and you have acccess to your Evernote notebooks and data on the Z10 via the Remember app, but I don't see a way to copy notes from the Evernote notebooks to the onboard Remember app folders. There is certainly a more involved way of copying and pasting. I just don't see an easy way to do it.

Only backup files created from devices running BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 and later can be restored to the BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
I believe the highest OS on the 8700 is 4.5.

you might try reading the backup using an IPD reader to possibly move the data to another format that can be used.
