Please Login to Remove!

I loaded 5.0 earlier this week and it seems like since ive loaded it, I have to put my BB on the charger atleast three times a day. Anyone else experiencing this?

I seem to be having better battery life on .419 compared to 4.7.1.65. Last time I charged was during the upgrade to 5.0 on the 18th and I was at 50% this morning and got drained down to 25% during a conference call I had on speaker phone.

I get on anywhere from 100-150 emails each day from my work email on BES and I do turn off the phone each time from about 11:00pm till 7:30am.

I've seen exactly the opposite coming from 4.7.1.xx. The battery life is improved (dramatically) on OS 5.0.0.419

I haven't had any issues with .419 on my device, and neither has my husband.

To double check - you don't have an application running in the background that may be draining the battery, do you?

It all depends on how many apps you have running on your BB. I constantly use Google maps, Viigo, UberTwitter, not to mention all the txt and voice calls I make and can easily get a full 8 hours of use out of my phone running MTS's version of OS 419. It's possible that you may need a new battery.

Since quite a number of us Tour owners started out with our batteries having the life sucked out of them from the beginning, maybe they are finally giving out and just need to be replaced. How long does it take to charge up to 100% compared to how long in between charges. That was my indicator to get a new battery. That was on 4.7. On another note, I bought the Seidio 2600 and upgraded two days later to 5.0. The new battery had to be charged by the end of the first day. After a couple days of the device settling down and the battery conditioned, I have two days between charges.

IMO, 8hrs of pretty much constant use is really not that bad. You can also turn off things you aren't using (ie GPS and Bluetooth) as they demand a bit more juice from the battery as well.

Although, turning off the GPS, you wont be able to use Google maps and location enabled ubertwitter very effectively.

i keep the GPS and bluetooth off. I can be on the phone for 10-15 min and it will go down a whole bar. Maybe it is my battery. I swapped out my battery once before. I think Ill try it again.

Same issue. I upgraded to the MTS release on my VZW phone and the battery life is terrible - I have to charge my phone twice per day to maintain usability. I am using BES, but BlueTooth and GPS are both off - and I don't run any different apps than I did before I upgraded!

Try the V4 hybrid. The battery life is outstanding. You can get at bbhybrids. It made all the difference for me, plus everything is much faster.

I never used a hybrid? I am familiar with BBHybrids site. Maybe I will take the plunge
