Default Message indicator

Please Login to Remove!

Just got my new 9700 ... Transfered what I could but I have new message indicator on and I read all mail/sms/bbm etc. How do I turn it off??

Look in Saved Messages.. Could be one hiding there.

I did both things as stated above ... I called provider he sent service books to device and cleared indicator then got another sms the indicator came back even after I deleted read and deleted sms

I didn't know resending service books would reset th notifier, but I guess it makes sense that it would refresh it. And don't know why it would almost immediately be in error again. With that said, I'm aware of three things to try (well, really four).

The first two are checking saved messages and hard reset, already mentioned. And in the past, I've read of people changing their theme and then changing back to their preferred theme, and that fixes it. That's all I'm aware of short of wiping and reinstalling the OS, which is extreme unless the notifcation is intolerable.

I was thinking of wiping the device since its only 2 days old.

I had this happen and tried the following which worked for me

message inbox
options
main message list settings
from here I checked all options to get all messages into the main inbox
found the unread message
