Actually MrKyoo bought it to our attention sometime back - to be frank - our devs did nothing on this - seems like RIM has allowed such a nice features to third party devs like us and is now serving better purpose for end-users

Is there a way to set this MediaPlayer as the default player? When I play a video from the Internet, it still goes to the BB Player.

What is your BlackBerry OS version?

Kindly be informed that the video playback is supported by third party applications like Dollars 5 medialayer only from v4.2.1 - it is easy and good to upgrade your OS if you had not done it before - read this thread for more details - http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...y-release.html

If you already have 4.2.1 and still face problems - it would be kind of you to detail on the problem - like what error do you face? video encoding type? which tool you used for creating the video? this information should aid us help you fast.

You can also try some of our demo videos from http://dollars5.com/QA/roadkill.avi and http://dollars5.com/QA/sweety.avi to compare and contrast Blackberry bundled media player and Dollars 5 mediaPlayer.

We are working on Equalizer. But be informed that to have advanced equalizer - RIM needs to enable HSR-234 for Equalizer control.

We are atp trying out an alternate approach - but seems to eat up much of CPU resources stalling/slowing down the whole mobile - that is the reason we are holding it without releasing. If RIM was kind enough to open up their APIs we are sure to have the Equalizer in the next build itself.

Dollars5 mediaPlayer is featured on "Meme or Lame Magazine" which is free to download from Meme or Lame / Comments (the magazine is ads free - except it features some ads for FireFox, OpenOffice and other opensource projects).

This was really refreshing to us as a developer to get good feedback.

A separate news on this is available at http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-magazine.html

dollars5,

Does your media player allow one to control the amount of silence between songs in an album? I have several disks that blend all of the songs seamlessly without silent space (like a club, yes) and I can't seem to do this with the BB media player.

I'm thinking about buying this app, it seems like it's the best out there for media players on the BB pearl. I have two questions though, if anyone can tell me before I buy this:

1). With the correct headphones, will I get stereo sound?

2). If the trackball light is on while music is playing, will this drain the battery significantly?

Thanks for your interest with our products:
1] Atp: RIM hardware supports only mono audio over Bluetooth so mediaPlayer also will render music as Mono only atp - it is rumored that the future OS upgrades will sport support for Stereo BT audio.

2] Trackball lighting WILL drain battery - but not significantly say - normal usage of mediaPlayer will cause the battery to drain from 100 to 90% in 1 hour, with trackball will cause the same drain in 50 mins.

Hope this helps, should you have any queries, feel free to get back to us, we can help.

Stereo over wired headset should work - you can try mediaPlayer free to 1 week yourself before you buy it is safe to confirm for yourself before purchase. (NOTE: we have not tested it ourselves but one of our customer reported he used stereo headphones - will try to gather feedback from him was he able to get stereo quality audio or not)

Default Excellent Media Player

I have just tried this out and I am really impressed. This is by far the best media player for the black berry pearl. I don't have my stereo adaptor yet, so I can't been able to lestion to it through headphones, but it works excellent and the features are really good.

I have a question, do you plan on implanting a bass and treble adjustment? I don't care about equalizers, thier a pain in the ass to me, but a bass and treble would is something that can really be used.

Thanks for the kind words of appreciation Sir.

Regarding Bass, Treble and equilizer - we are working on them but ETA is unknown, our current implementations for Bass,Treble and equalizer are not standard RIM accepted implementations and as tested by our Beta users they find it inefficient - we are constantly working to get a lightweight implementations, it should happen sooner. When it is available - I will sure let you know of it.

Thanks again.
