Question Battery charging question........

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

This is a fairly tech-related question. Can I use my old D-series battery charger to charge my new F-S1 Torch battery? It fits inside pretty well and the orange light comes on when I charge it.

Is this dangerous / will it damage the battery? I don't think there is a specific battery charger for the Torch out at the moment so I am tempted to just use the D-series one but I don't want to cause any damage to the battery...

Pls let me know if any of you have tried something like this before and if you think it is ok to do.

Thanks,

Henry

Check the charging requirements for each battery I'd say you are fairly safe unless your D series is charging at a faster rate than the 9800 battery is supposed to be. I think you are okay though

You can use the 9300 charger for a 9800 and vice versa. Via the usb port I know a bit different from what you are asking but they are different batteries yet can be charged by different chargers

You cannot "overcharge" the battery. Don't confuse voltage and current. Voltage is measured in Volts and for devices of this size current is measured in mA (ie Amps). No matter how high the MA rating is on the charger the device will only use the current it needs to charge.

The only issue is if the current output of the charger is too low to adequately charge the device.
