Just received my SanDisk 2GB MicroSD in the mail, pretty much a MONTH after I ordered it ( that is another story in itself) -- I slotted it into the SD adaptor that came with it and then inserted it into my PC, because I had read that you needed to format it before using it. However, after I insert it and from the "My Computer" folder click/double-click/right-click on the "SD card" icon, my cursor just changes into an hour glass for like, forever. No windows pop up (after more than an hour), no prompts, no error messages, no nothing. I just have to 'kill' the now unresponsive "My Computer" window. I haven't tried putting the MicroSD card into my Pearl yet (should I?), but does anyone have any inkling of what is going on here? Does it sound like the card is faulty (in which case, thank you Buy.com, for taking 4+ weeks to send me rubbish)?

Check your card status:

Options - Advanced - Media Card

Is Media Card Support - on
Mass Storage Support - on
Auto Enable Mass Storage mode when connect - yes

Re-read your post.... Just insert in the phone and turn on. I didn't have to format mine...

Thanks! I'll try that when I get home this evening. If that works though, does that mean I'll then be able to access the MicroSD card through my PC too, if I wanted to?

Yes you will! I store things off the computer all the time.

I put a one GB SanDisk card in my 8100 - works fine - I thought the manual said up to 1 GB - the 2 GB card may be too much.

BTW - Try Amazon for Micro SD memory - I found that for the 1 GB card, the price was great and got it in one week.

The new OS can handle the 2gb cards now.
