BBWEATHER 8700g INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:
  1. I downloaded BBWeather again by e-mailing the over the air link to my blackberry and clicking on it in my inbox (I can't post the link since I haven't posted at least ten times here yet, how weird is that?)
  2. went to BBWeather options
  3. entered the four letter/four number city code which I got from the weather.com site by looking at the URL
  4. checked the box "Disable MDS Proxy" and saved
  5. then went to Blackberry Main Options Menu (the wrench on the front screen)
  6. went to advanced options
  7. went to TCP
  8. next to APN I typed what phillyslickster wrote above which I can 't write here and saved
BBWeather now works.
What about for a 7290? For the bbcorrector and the bbweather, I get the "could not open tunnell" error message. What am I doing wrong?

What did you do exactly? if this doesnt solve the problem "Woodland, TX" then this thread should be deleted and blocked to prevent all of us from having further frustration...

This suggestion solved my problem!!!!

1. Get the four letter (US _ _ ) plus four number city code which you can get from the weather.com site by looking at the URL
2. Go to BBWeather options
3. Put US----- in location ID box
4. press save...

Default BB Weather & Pearl

Anybody have BBWeather working on their Pearl? I installed it but it totally hangs right after stating that no profiles are loaded. I think this program is going to have to be rewritten for the 8100. I hope someone can do it soon...I miss it already.

Any help? How did you install it? I installed it first from Desktop Manager and it didn't work. I then installed it OTA and that didn't work either....I tried restoring the content store and rms databases...that didn't work either.

On the BlackBerry desktop manager, I clicked switch device. Then I clicked switch BlackBerry devices and followed the instructions from there. Ice used BB weather on several different BB models and never had a problem with it working. Do your other apps work from your previous BB? Is this tour first BB? Are you using any other apps on your BB?

Philly,
I've installed BBWeather on many BB's. However, it kept locking my 8100. I kept trying after you said yours worked and just now somehow finally managed to get past it. I dont even know what I did. Thanks for a quick reply, though. Some other posters in the 8100 forum had reported the same thing. I just figured it didn't like OS 4.2.

John

BB Today would make my 8700g freeze. I had to take the battery out to fix the problem and I deleted it from my 8700g. I think it works on the 8700c though.

Ok so I'm trying to get BBToday working on my 7250 and everytime I go to weather.com to find the location code, it doesn't show it in the URL bar.

I would like to use BBToday but if it isn't going to work all the way than I'm done w/ it.

Can anyone help or have the code for ZIP 76201

Thanks

Use the "lookup weather id" Option in BBToday. Go to where you type in the weather code or zip code and type in the city and state. Click "lookup location id".
